# SWINGIN' AT THE SAVOY 2015
The most exciting event of the year, Swingin' At The Savoy, is only a few short days away! It is mostly sold out, and the registration has closed; however, we have a few spots left for leaders in track A. If you are a leader with basic Lindy fundamentals down and are ready to take your dancing to a new level, contact SATS organizers (you can find the email on the event's website).

Let's get ready for a crazy weekend of dancing, learning, feeling inspired, and having crazy amounts of fun!

1. THIS WEEK: SATS is here! February Series! Black History Month! DJ Alex P!

February is the Black History month; let's celebrate it with all our hearts as we dance the Lindy Hop, the dance that originated in the African-American community of the early 20th century. DJ Alex P. is a Lindy Hop history enthusiast and has many merry old tunes to have us swinging out all night long!

2. February Classes: Angela & Doug! Carla & Gilles!

*** LEVEL 2: Tandem Charleston w/ Angela & Doug ***
Spice up your Lindy language with some hot, fast-paced Tandem Charleston. Your trusty guides will navigate you through the ins and outs and all of the awesome variations in between. We'll focus on footwork, connection, and creative ways these fun steps can be added seamlessly into your Charleston repertoire.

# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** LEVEL 3: 2-month Performance Class w/ Carla & Gilles ****
Please note: this class is continuing from January. You can't join the class / drop in in February.

Getting the itch to work on a fun partner routine and perhaps perform it in front of your peers? Then this series is for you! Join Carla & Gilles for an 8-week performance class spanning January and February. You will need to find a partner, either ahead of time (facebook anyone?), or in class the first week of the series.

# PRE-REQUISITES: Being registered for the class since January.

*** LEVEL 1: 8-count Lindy Hop w/ Angela & Doug ***
When you really want to dig that swing beat, there's nothing like 8-count lindy hop! We will start with the basics, from zero dance experience on up, and get you swinging around the dance floor in no time! This is a progressive 4-week class; show up on the first week to get maximum benefit.

# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** ELECTIVE: Lindy Resolutions - Part 2 w/ Carla & Gilles ***
Missed the Part 1 in January? No worries, join us in February! This month, we will focus on spins & turns, rhythm, and jazz moves.

Giving some thoughts about New Year's resolutions? What about taking some Lindy resolutions for 2015? Carla & Gilles would like to help you with that. This two-part series (part 1 was in February) is meant to transform your dancing by deconstructing Lindy Hop into its different parts (movement, rhythm, connection, partnering, momentum) and then putting them back together. New understanding, new feel, new year, new you!

# PRE-REQUISITES: Having completed 3 months of Level 1. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years or younger! Show proof of age 24 or younger at the front desk for 50% off the regular price of series classes. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night Hop offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
