2. December Classes Sneak Preview: Kevin & Lori! Carla & James! Doug & Crystal!

*** LEVEL 2: Swingouts -- Focus on Footwork Styling w/ Carla & James ***
The mother move of Lindy hop, the swing out! When you add cool footwork and breaks to counts 7,8,1, and 2, the swingout becomes a lean mean awesome machine. Whether youíre a lead or follow, learn the secrets to connecting well with your partner while doing fun footwork, and expand your swingout repertoire to be more musical with your dancing!
# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** LEVEL 3: Musicality w/ Kevin & Lori ****
Musicality, or how you adapt your dancing to the music, is something very personal and differs greatly from dancer to dancer. Yet there are fundamental elements that can guide you on this journey. Macro-musicality involves the structure of music, its phrasing, but also the general feeling and atmosphere of the song. Then there is micro-musicality: rhythms in each bar the music, accents, stretches, pauses, instruments playing with each other...
During this class series, we will look at those different musicality elements and how you can use play with each them in your dancing.
# PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.

*** LEVEL 1: Charleston w/ Kevin & Lori ***
Come out and kick your way around some basic Charleston! You will learn basic body movement, drill technique on Charleston kicks, and explore 20s and 30s style Charleston as you get ready to kick it on the social dance floor.
# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** ELECTIVE: Balboa 7-week Progressive w/ Doug & Crystal ***
Students should expect fast and progressive coverage of material and concepts that build on their existing knowledge of basic figures, spread over a seven-week commitment. By the end of this course, you will have advanced your footwork mastery, played with creativity, and strengthened your connection and technique for faster and more reliable responsiveness and musicality.
# PRE-REQUISITES: October's Balboa Fundamentals class OR equivalent strong familiarity with the basic balboa rhythm, the basic figures including pure balboa and basics (double and single), forward/back progressives, paddles, come-around, lolly kicks and the throwout.
