Next week will be our first ever Headzapoppin' party! The concept is simple -- go crazy from the shoulders on up. Any head, face, or neck decorations that you can think of are valid -- be creative! There will be contests and there will be prizes, there will be mad loony fun!

1. THIS WEEK: September Series! End of Summer Clothing Exchange! DJ Alex F!

The hot Californian summer is coming to an end, autumn is knocking on the door. Soon we'll put away the sundresses and take out the sweaters. Meaning, it's the perfect timing for another clothing exchange! Go ahead and sift through your closets; bring over your NEW or SLIGHTLY USED and CLEAN clothing, shoes, or accessories you no longer want, and leave with some new (to you) items to love!

We are so excited to welcome Carla Heiney as our guest instructor in September! Carla is a worldwide acclaimed lindy hop dancer, choreographer, and instructor; a winner of multiple championships, and a talented teacher. She even choreographed for the show "So You Think You Can Dance"! Take a look at her dancing, and be sure to enjoy her awesomeness this September!

7:15-8:15pm
*** LEVEL 2: Swing Out -- Focus on the Send Out w/ Eliott & Lori ***
Do you and your social dancing partners a favor by taking care of them during one of the most important moves in lindy hop, the Swing Out! Learn useful new ways to think about the dance, and expand your knowledge base and options for how to execute great and comfortable swingouts for both your leaders and your followers! This class focuses mostly on counts 4,5&6 of the swingout, and also deals with what the follow can do creatively when that happens!

# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** LEVEL 3: Turn It Up w/ Carla & Doug ****
Focusing on amplifying your dancing and giving your ideas more impact: making your lines stronger, your moves faster, your hits harder, etc.

# PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.

*** LEVEL 1: Charleston w/ Carla & Doug ***
Did you know that the Charleston preceded even swing and lindy hop? It's true! Come learn the fundamental steps that took the 1920s by storm, and which today form the basis of all that we call swing. You will learn fundamental Charleston moves this month, which will help you figure out how to fit them with whatever other moves you already know...but fear not if you've never danced before, we'll get you up to speed on swing basics as well!

# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** ELECTIVE: Tranky Doo w/ Margot & Richard ***
"The dipsy doodle is the thing to beware
The dipsy doodle will get in your hair
And if it gets you, it couldn't be worse
The things you say will come out in reverse

That's the way the dipsy doodle works."

If you've ever heard this song and wished you could join the rush to do this wacky dance, now is the time! Join us as we break the Tranky Doo down, learn the technique behind the moves, and join the rest of the dancers when the Tranky Doo breaks out during a dance party!

# PRE-REQUISITES: At least 3 months of Level 1. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years or younger! Show proof of age 24 or younger at the front desk for 50% off the regular price of series classes. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night Hop offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
