Next week is our 50's Sock Hop party! Get ready with these poodle skirts, polish that Nerd, Jock, or Greaser style of yours, and come party like it's 50's all over again!

1. THIS WEEK: August Series Continue! DJ Alex F!

We have great classes and great teachers this month! Come to learn and to improve, then dance your hear out at the dance party to the Fabulous music spun by the Fantastic DJ Alex Fernandez!

2. August Classes: Idalia & Brian! Eliott & Katrina! Lori & Doug!

7:15-8:15pm
*** LEVEL 2: Tandem Charleston w/ Eliott & Katrina ***
Spice up your Lindy language with some hot, fast-paced Tandem Charleston. Your trusty guides will navigate you through the in's and out's and all of the awesome variations in between. We'll focus on footwork, connection, and creative ways these fun steps can be added seamlessly into your Charleston repertoire.

# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** LEVEL 3: Smooth Sailing w/ Idalia & Brian ****
Every new dance is a new journey; every dancer responsible for experiences contained in it. Are the journeys you go on filled with rough waters, or do you impart calmness and serenity? In this class we will be exploring how to smooth out our movements and create flow in the dance. We will talk about how to create and redirect momentum in a graceful manner, and how to reincorporate some choppiness to add texture tastefully. By the end of this class, your partners will look forward to going on adventures with you.

# PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.

8:15-9:15pm
*** LEVEL 1: 8-count Basic w/ Idalia & Brian ***
When you really want to dig that swing beat, there's nothing like 8-count lindy hop! We will start with the basics, from zero dance experience on up, and get you swinging around the dance floor in no time! This is a progressive 4-week class; show up on the first week to get maximum benefit.

# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

*** ELECTIVE: Shim Sham and Jive w/ Doug & Lori ***
Do you feel left out when all the dancers jump on the floor and do a solo routine? Learn two popular solo routines done on dance floors across the world, Frankie Manning's Shim Sham and Doin' the Jive. These routines will flesh out your solo jazz vocabulary, help you feel comfortable adding style to your partner dancing, and let you dance with the whole room at the same time!

# PRE-REQUISITES: At least 3 months of Level 1. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!

9:30-12:00am - Dance Party

Wednesday Night Hop offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
