It's time to Lindy Prom! Whether you got done with school just now or many years ago, it's never too late to celebrate. Come and enjoy the Prom the lindy way -- with lots of dancing, performances by the Swing Cats Rhythm Revue and the Jazzawockeez, and our very own photo booth! The theme this year is Art Deco -- the era when Swing was in its bloom. Whether you dress up in one of your vintage, or vintage-inspired outfits; or whether you decorate yourself to resemble the Chrysler Building, the Art Deco iconic piece of architecture; or whether you implement motifs of airplanes, trains, or other technology that inspired Art Deco artists -- you will be adding to the Art Deco aura of the night! http://wednesdaynighthop.com/event/20140611/DJ Dhruv will spin his Art Deco-ey music for us! *** LEVEL 2: Swingouts -- Focus On 7,8,1,2 w/ James & Katrina ***
The mother move of Lindy hop, the swing out! When you add cool footwork and breaks to counts 7,8,1, and 2, the swingout becomes a lean mean awesome machine. Whether youíre a lead or follow, learn the secrets to connecting well with your partner while doing fun footwork, and expand your swingout repertoire to be more musical with your dancing!
# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** LEVEL 3: Connection Intensive w/ Rebecca & Kevin ****
In this social dance of ours, it's our connection with our partners that makes it MAGIC. Rebecca and Kevin will teach you to play and move with connection, to listen actively to both leads and follows, and how to use that connection to build increasingly complex and great feeling dances.
# PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals.

*** LEVEL 1: Charleston w/ Richard & Margot ***
Did you know that the Charleston preceded even swing and lindy hop? It's true! Come learn the fundamental steps that took the 1920s by storm, and which today form the basis of all that we call swing. You will learn fundamental Charleston moves this month, which will help you figure out how to fit them with whatever other moves you already know...but fear not if you've never danced before, we'll get you up to speed on swing basics as well!
# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** ELECTIVE: Swing Rueda w/ Megan & Laura ***
Swing Rueda is an exciting, very social, group lindy swing dance! Adapted from Salsa Rueda by Jeff Miller and Elaine Hewlett, Swing Rueda is danced in a circle with two or more couples. One dancer calls the moves and the entire circle executes in unison, as the follows travel around the circle dancing one or more moves with each lead. Once you learn the core moves you can dance a Swing Rueda anywhere. Get ready for a lot of fun and a ton of cool moves that can be incorporated into your Lindy Hop.

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night Hop offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
