Last week was 'off the hook' with our Shim Sham Contest. We had Savoy
and Dean Collins Shim Sham served up, and Rich Unger was deemed the
winner with his fast feet. Even the teachers had a tough time with DJ
Alex's challenge songs. Thanks to everyone for coming out, what a
night! We completely surprised Laura with her Secret Shower! Thanks
to everyone for helping us get her a carload of baby goodies. Thanks
Coleen for the great idea! By the way, baby pool is still open, so
come lay down a quarter to buy a square on the matrix the closest
date and weight wins!
Oh yes! We're having a LIVE BAND August 6th, a Jack & Jill contest
coming soon (with SFLX tix as prizes -- woo hoo!), and lots more fun
events planned. Please continue checking out the newsletter for more

We're wrapping up our 4 week series classes and DJ Jason will be
spinnin' the tunes from 9pm-Midnight.
Level 2 - Charleston: Wild Ride Charleston!
7-8pm with Megan & Trevor
**Drop-ins allowed ONLY IF you have taken some classes this month.**
No new material this week; we are focusing on putting it all together
for the big performance next week!!!!
Level 1 - Lindy Fun'Damentals: 8-Count Lindy and Swing Out Variations
8-9pm with Andrea & Gilles

3. August 6th -- Next Series Classes Start!

Live music, Jack and Jill contest, great new classes! We're keepin'
it hoppin' at Wednesday Night Hop!
7pm-8pm: Level 2
Intermediate Lindy Series -- "Attaining Perfection"
This 4 week series class not only will give you some cool moves, but
it'll also give you cool moves that will help you dance better. A
lot goes into dancing the Lindy Hop well: rhythms, connection,
balance, communication, improvisation, listening. This series class
is designed to challenge your dancing on these different aspects and
will help push you forwards on your journey to becoming a better
Lindy Hopper.
This series is suitable for the intermediate Lindy Hop dancer with
8+ months of continuous dancing experience. No partner required!

8pm-9pm: Level 1
Beginner Lindy Hop Series -- "20's Charleston In Your Lindy"
This 4 week series class will teach you the basics of 20's style
Charleston, will give you lots of fun variations to put into it, and
will also show you how to get in and out of it from side by side
dance position. Charleston is a wonderful dance that's a part of the
Lindy Hop that will get you dancing to faster tempos with ease!
This series is suitable from the absolute beginner with no dance
experience to dancers with 4-6 months of Lindy Hop dance experience.
No experience is necessary! No partner necessary! Just bring your
enthusiasm!
