When the worlds of 8- and 6-count swing collide, amazing dancing results! Join us in learning some of the classic and awesome 6/8 count moves you see on the dance floor. You might think we'll be baking, with moves that include words like "roll" and "sugar", and you won't be far off as we explore the recipe for mixing them into more texture-rich dancing!
# PRE-REQUISITES: Execute a swingout, lindy circle, charleston and 6-count moves and transition between them in open and closed positions. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** LEVEL 3: California Routine w/ James & Lori ****(James is subbing for Gilles this week)
Have you ever swung-out three times and ended with a lindy circle? Then you already know how this routine starts! With its origins fabled to extend all the way to Hellzapoppin', the California Routine is a Lindy Hop staple. We will teach this famous partnered choreography over the course of 5 weeks and use it as a base for practicing both essential dance connection and performance skills.
# PRE-REQUISITES: At least nine consecutive months of Level 1 and Level 2 including one full year of social dance, or discuss your eligibility with instructors. Under-qualified students will be asked to transfer to Level 2 in order to strengthen their fundamentals. No partner required.

Start dancing from day one! We will get you moving in this month-long series that will make you an expert on basic footwork, turns, wraps, breaks and jazzy stylin'. Includes 6- and 8-count moves, an introduction to the swing-out foundation, and more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
# PRE-REQUISITES: None. No partner required; just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable clothes!
*** ELECTIVE: Collegiate Shag w/ Treven & Diana ***We're excited to welcome our new guest instructors, Treven and Diana, to teach the fun and captivating dance of Collegiate Shag! This is a dance that evolved from the Charleston and was popular in the 1920s and 1930s with college students. It's an excellent dance to do when the tempos really start jumping and its 6- & 8-count footwork will help you keep up with ease! In this four week series, expect to become versed in shag styles, variations, and cool patterns! We'll get you shaggin' out to the faster songs, no problem!
