The 30 Second Showcase is getting close, but there's still enough time to create a routine! Choose 30 seconds of a song; come up with some moves to go with it; perform it at WNH on September 26th! (Pssst... you can also perform it at 9:20 Special the very next day, September 27th.) Please submit your music to Cheryl before September 23rd. Oh, we can't wait to see all the performances next week!

Did you know that September 19th is the International Talk Like a Pirate Day? Now you do! Come this Wednesday in your scariest pirate outfit, bring your (stuffed) parrot and eye patch, and talk like a pirate! ARRRRR!
DJ Scott will be in the house to make us stopm our wooden legs and shake our pirate booties!
The September series continue, but you can always drop in.

2. September Classes: Hunter & Audrey! Gilles & Angela!

7:15-8:15pm:
*** Level 2 - CHOO CHOO CH-CHARLESTON! with Hunter & Audrey ***
Get ready for some fun! This month Hunter and Audrey will be getting down to some serious Charleston stuff including kick through Charleston, hand-to-hand Charleston, Tandem Charleston and the Chase!
*** AERIALS TRAINING with Gilles & Angela ***
Frankie Manning created the first "Air Step" with his partner, Frieda Washington to wow the crowd at a dance contest at the Savoy Ballroom in the 1930's. These days an "Air Step" or Aerial, as they are sometimes called, is defined as any move in which both the follower's feet leave the ground at the same time. Join Angela & Gilles this month to learn how flying and basing techniques to make aerials fun and safe. Feel free to come with a partner, or we will pair people together. Let's fly to the moon together!
8:15-9:15pm:
*** Level 1 - CHARLESTON with Gilles & Angela ***
The Charleston began as its own dance in the 1920s and took the US by storm. The Lindy Hop evolved from it and even giving it its own flavor. The two are very often mixed together in the same dance. Join Angela and Gilles to learn 1920's and 1930's style Charleston and how to make them fit seamlessly with your Lindy Hop.
*** Level 3 - SLOW & FAST with Hunter & Audrey ***
Join Hunter and Audrey as they embark across the spectrum of Tempo. Start out the month with slower music and how to keep the dance classy followed by faster music and how to dance accordingly. This is a great class for people who already feel they have strong fundamentals in their dance and want to start thinking about how to fine tune their art both aesthetically and mechanically.

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.
Discount policy for 24 and younger or full-time students:

for drop-in classes (same as regular price)
for the dance only (regularly or on band night)

Wednesday Night offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class for only for the continuing student and for the brand new dancer! Spread the gospel of swing!
