DJ Scott is in the house this week! Don't his tunes and don't miss out on classes either!
Heads up! Next week we'll celebrate Frankie Manning's birthday on May 23rd. Get ready for a SPEED SHIM SHAM contest! And we'll have a little impromptu Big Apple later on in the evening.
It is Frankie Manning's birth month and we continue teaching the big apple in jazz class at 7:15. If you missed the first two classes, you can try to catch up with our online videos. We will be learning the most intricate part of the routine tomorrow if you need to brush up!

*** SOLO CHARLESTON - THE BIG APPLE! ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
Come learn the Big Apple dance as performed by the original Whiteys Lindy Hoppers. Filled with vintage vernacular Jazz movements that will inspire and improve your dance quality. Join Hunter as he breaks down the movements into simple and easy to understand concepts that will get you dancing! It is Frankie's birth month and the folks up at the 9:20 Special in SF are learning this routine too, so perhaps we can all join together in a huge spontaneous Big Apple out there somewhere! The more people who know it, the better!
*** LEVEL 2 - TIME TO TURN! ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
A lot of the fun of dancing is about turning. In this class, you will learn how to turn your partner and yourself, when to turn and how fast, and how not to get dizzy. We will play with inside turns, outside turns, pop turns, barrel turns, travelling turns, lock turns, no blinking signals required. We may put a few spins on them too. We hope followers turn out en masse for this level 2 series, we need you followers, come to turn with us!
*** LEVEL 1 - BLENDING 6 & 8 COUNT FIGURES! ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
It's time to swing! One of the most fun parts of swing dancing is blending 8-count footwork, 6-count footwork, and other interesting rhythms. It's never boring, to say the least! In this beginner level 4 week series class, we'll teach you some basic 6 and 8-count moves and then explore the art of transitioning between these rhythms. Through it all, we'll get you swinging with style!
*** LEVEL 3 - LINDY HOP VIGNETTES ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
Hunter is thrilled to bring to you a few of his favorite movements. Join him and Audrey as they bring a series of a mini-routines that focus on different movement techniques and qualities that will improve your Lindy Hop and thrill you on the dance floor.

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
