Followers! We need you to come out for Kevin & Jo's Level 2 & Higher Dips and Tricks class at 7:15. We will only take couples and drop-in followers until it's balanced and then anything goes!

This Wednesday, Feb.29th, is Leap Day - a very rare 5th Wednesday!
Our lovely guest instructor, Rebecca Shannon, reminded us recently of a bit of Americana, the Sadie Hawkins night where the girls had to ask the guys to the dance. This event was so named after the Al Capp character from the Lil Abner cartoon strip and everyone dressed up in overalls and cut off shorts like the cartoon. This relates to the old Northern European tradition of Leap day being the one day women could propose to a man. The man was fined if he said "no"!
It is so much of burden sometimes for the leaders to do most of the asking for dances. Followers should always feel free to do it too! In order to encourage this behavior, we decree a Sadie Hawkins Leap Year dance this week where the followers can feel free to ask the leader of their choice for a dance! Overalls and cut off shorts optional (but so very cute!)

It was awesome.

Thanks so much to everyone; teachers, volunteers, media team, DJs, MCs, organizers, Clint Baker's New Orleans Jazz Band, Harley White Jr. Orchestra, Invitational JnJ competitors, Swing Kids for hosting Sunday evening (which was off the HOOK!) And all of the attendees for your energy! We all made this weekend come together brilliantly and showed our special guests the character of the SF greater bay area.

International teachers and Lindy Hop champions, Kevin St. Laurent & Jo Hoffberg, bring you just what you NEED! There is a word at some Japanese sushi restaurants, "Omakase," that means "leave the selection to the chef." Because often, the chef knows better than the patron. This week we leave it to Kevin & Jo to bring us some of the very best things they think we need in our dancing.

8:15 - 9:15pm
Cheryl & Gilles will give you a drop-in class that will get you going from 0 to swing in 60 minutes! Absolute beginners welcome and no partner is required.
*** LEVEL 3 - KEVIN & JO PERFORMANCE ROUTINE! ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
Yes, we are already 4 weeks into the routine, but if you have a partner and you think you can catch up from video, you are welcome to join in this week. You can either drop-in at each or pay each for the next 5-weeks of instruction.

If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class for only for the continuing student and for the brand new dancer! Spread the gospel of swing!
