We had a great time last week having Slim Jenkins through our doors for the first time! So many of us stayed to the very end of the dance to ask for an encore song! Even Slim himself came out and danced with us for a little while!
Our next band night will be on June 1st with the Carl Sonny Leyland Trio!

Come out to the dance this week to dance with us again with DJ Alex. P!
We will continue practicing swing rueda during a free 15-minute practice & lesson at all the rest of the dances this month. Come out again at about 9:30 to join us!
Don't forget to spread the word about LINDY PROM coming up on the 25th at the end of the month. The theme this year is "Bootlegger's Ball" and will have a 1920's speakeasy flare! The free photo booth will be open so get your poses ready and vie for this year's prom King and Queen!
This month marks the birth month of our grandfather of lindy hop, Frankie Manning! A quarter of this month's profits will go to the Frankie Fund. The 9:20 Special will host Frankie's birthday party on a grand May 26th culmination of the celebration. Join in on the fun and honor Frankie for changing all of our lives!

*** LEVEL 1 - MIX & MATCH 6 & 8 COUNTS ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
In this 4-week series, Angela and Brian will help you to build (or continue to build up) your basic 6- and 8-count Lindy moves. You will be introduced fun variations of 6-count patterns, and ways to transition from 6-count to 8-count rhythms smoothly and freely. Two mini routines that are based on the moves in this series will spice up your social dance skills.
*** LEVEL 2 - KICK START YOUR TANDEM CHARLESTON ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
Alright, so, you're feeling good in your side by side charleston, and you feel compelled to start rockin' out in tandem. You try to get into it, and... "Oh, shoot, sorry - let's reset." OK, let's forget about that, you've gotten into tandem now (and potentially adjusted to using the "wrong" foot)! Things are going awesome. Except after eight 8-counts of the basic, you begin to wonder what the heck you're supposed to do with thIS weird tandem thing. Ummm... time to get back to side by side! Shoot, but how do you do that? Time to reset again...
If you've ever experienced any of these tandem anxieties, have no fear! Brian and Cheryl will help you unleash the awesomeness that is to be found in tandem! You'll learn some sweet transitions in and out of it, as well as some stylin' moves to add some variety once you get there! This class is suitable for people with 3+ months of dance experience - we'll start out with a review of side-by-side and a few variations, but make sure you're comfortable with the basic charleston first!
*** LEVEL 3 - THE BIG APPLE ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
In May, Audrey and Gilles will teach the big apple routine from the movie "Keep Punchin'" Get some great jazz moves under your belt and improve your lindy hop by improving your own personal body movement, while getting some aerobic exercise and having a blast with this choreography! May is Pure Balboa month with Matt and Andrea! They will be focusing on the connection, timing, and technique while dancing in closed position. Learn different ways of moving around the floor, some fancy footwork, and of course how make it feel oh so smooth while looking oh so cool.

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.

Wednesday Night offers value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
