Last week Lilly and Lori put together a fantastic game of Lindy Flag Football at our Superbowl Wednesday party and a bunch of us had a great time on our very first field trip to the 9:20 Special the next day! Thanks so much for taking part in events at Wednesday Night Hop; we love seeing everyone having a great time with each other and constantly learning about Lindy and the Lindy community!

The California Honeydrops return to rock the house and celebrate the beginning of February! It's bound to be a great time so don't miss a beat. DJ Trevor spins the tunes during band breaks.

2. FEB 19TH - Swingin' At The Savoy - A Jazz and Dance History Workshop!

Don't forget! SWINGIN' AT THE SAVOY - A Jazz and Dance History Workshop will be held on the 19th of February, and it will focus on the dances, the stylings, the atmosphere and the music related to the birth of Lindy Hop in Harlem, New York and the Savoy Ballroom!
MONDAY JANUARY 31st is the last day you can get your full workshop pass for only $55! After Monday, the price goes up to $65 when registering before Feb 16th and at the door it will be $75. Similar price breaks for registering a la carte.
The daytime workshop will offer six different classes to choose from to fill your 3-class day. We are also offering two history lectures, one focusing on the music and the other focusing on the dancing at the Savoy Ballroom. You won't have time to leave for lunch so we are offering a hot meal of fried chicken or vegetables on site for your convenience. We would be pleased if you would partake!
The Evening Ball held at the De Anza building in downtown Mountain View will have TWO LIVE BANDS to recreate the continuous live entertainment that the Savoy Ballroom boasted back in the day! Clint Baker and the Cafe Borrone All Stars, who we have grown to consider our house band, will invite The Cottontails to trade sets and duke it out for your entertainment and continuous dancing pleasure!

*** LEVEL 1 - SPREADIN' THE RHYTHM AROUND ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
This class is a great introductory class as well as an all-levels reminder that the basics are where it's at! This class will go over the many rhythms lindy hop has to offer and how to move through them with grace and ease. We will cover movements from both 6 and 8 count patterns and kick things up a notch by making them flow nicely together. There will be something for everyone!
*** LEVEL 2 - TOUR DE CHARLESTON ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
Gabe and Andrea will lead you through a tour-de-Charleston in February. Perfect for spicing up your faster tempos. We will go over many ways into and out of the many different Charlestons along with some ideas for movements to do with each. It's a month you definitely shouldn't miss! This class is perfect for those looking to beef up their Charleston as well as those of you fresh out of Level 1.
*** LEVEL 3 - CRAZY RHYTHM ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
Come explore Crazy Rhythms with Audrey and Ryan as they break apart your basic framework and help you paint it anew in fun and colorful ways. In this series you'll play with timing and syncopation, solo movement within partner dancing, challenging footwork and much more. The classes will be geared towards dancers who are very comfortable with swingout variations, Charleston basics and some solo movement. Come ready to express yourself!
*** ALL LEVELS BALBOA - BAL-SWING ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
This month, Jeff and Pinar will add a bit more spice to your Balboa with an entire month of Bal-Swing. They will add spins and turns, returning to closed position connection on occasion. The class will cover cross over-breaks, lolly kicks, throw outs, the come-around, the send-out, the break-turn and many variations thereof for those more experienced dancers. The class starts with basics, so all levels are encouraged to take it.

8:15-9:15pm - Level 1 Lindy OR Balboa ($50 series, $16 drop-in)

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a $6 admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.
Discount policy for 24 and younger or full-time students:
$25 for series classes (regularly $50)
$16 for drop-in classes (same as regular price)
$6 for the dance only (regularly $8 or $12 on band night)

Wednesday Night offers $80 value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class for only $25 for the continuing student and $25 for the brand new dancer! Spread the gospel of swing!
