We cannot thank Solomon Douglas, Swing Cats Rhythm Revue, Pinar and Adam enough for making our 5th Wednesday in September such a night to remember! We hope you all had a great time learning some new things in the special topics drop-in classes and putting some new found knowledge to great use with some fabulous live music!

1. THIS WEEK: October 6th - Live Band: The California Honeydrops!

The California Honeydrops are back to kick off another great month of dancing and learning at Wednesday Night Hop. Who can forget it? The last time they were here they were spontaneously inspired to come out and play with us right in the middle of the dance floor! If you missed it the first time, come out and catch the energy of the California Honeydrops while you can!
DJ Trevor returns to spin the tunes during band breaks.

2. October Series Classes Begin with Adam & Pinar!

Brand new series classes begin this week! Series classes allow you to learn more, because each week builds on the next. It also helps to establish stronger relationships with your fellow students, so that you may better grow, learn and practice together more effectively.

*** LEVEL 1 - FUNDAMENTALS OF LINDY HOP ***
Oct 6 - Oct 27, 8:15 - 9:15pm
Kicking off a new class series in October, Adam and Pinar will start teaching you strong fundamentals upon which you can build a long and healthy passion for lindy hop. Start swingin' out in style to the extraordinary music that is America's greatest heritage. Warning: Lindy hop can lead to copious amounts of fun and excitement.

*** LEVEL 2 - FREE YOUR DANCE ***
Oct 6 - Oct 27, 7:15 - 8:15pm
We always try to push the limits of the box that contain us. We like to remove the mental and physical blocks that inhibit our full expression as dancers and artists. In this class Adam and Pinar will explore ways of achieving these goals. They will help you remove the unnecessary constraints that limit the freedom in your dance and open up a space where you can pronounce your artistry with intention. A rare class sure to be beneficial to dancers of all levels.

8:15pm - Level 1 Beg Lindy Hop ($50 Series, $15 drop-in, dance included)
9:15pm - 12am - Live Band! ($10 Dance only)
($75 to take both series classes)

3. Upcoming Event: Oct 13th - Dec 1st $400 Harvest Moon Jack & Jill Derby!

Starting NEXT WEEK, Wednesday Night Hop will hold the first round of six preliminary Jack & Jill contests in the $400 Harvest Moon Jack and Jill Swing Derby! The winners of each of these prelims qualify to be in the final round to compete, accompanied by a live band, for the grand prize on December 1st!
Enter prelims as often as you like until you qualify for the finals. 1st place gets you in the final automatically. 2nd and 3rd place earns you points for qualification as well. It's fun and it's only $3 to enter!
Amateur level competitors only. If you are not sure whether you qualify, please ask.
Prizes:
- 1st place finalists: $200 each to the top Jack and top Jill
Additional prizes include lindy hop event passes (T.B.D.) and Wednesday Night Hop dance cards (valued $70) for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finalists.

4. Upcoming Event: Oct 29th Hepcat Hallowe'en

Something wicked this way comes... it's Hallowe'en time! Put your thinking caps on and get out your sewing machines, glue guns, or papier-mache; we have $50 waiting for the best costume as well as some other fun and games. Mark your calendars; your costume needs to be ready a little earlier this year!

WNH welcomes individuals of 24 years and younger! Show proof of age 24 and
younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you
are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a
full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your
full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount.
Dances are also discounted to a $5 admission cost. Drop-in classes are not
discounted.
Discount policy for 24 and younger or full-time students:
$25 for series classes (regularly $50)
$14 or $15 for drop-in classes (same as regular price)
$5 for the dance only (regularly $7 or $10 on band night)

Wednesday Night offers $70 value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the
dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a
band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with
cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy
Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your
instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class
for only $25 for the continuing student and $25 for the brand new dancer!
