Wow! Thanks to everyone for giving sending our very own Kim Tran off to New York with a very warm and loving fare thee well last week and thank you to Kim for the surprise performance! You will be missed. Wherever we are, let us all sing another round of "For She's A Jolly Good Follow!"
Mark your calendars! Our next band night will be on August 11th with Carl Sonny Leyland and Friends! You may recognize his name from the Jazz festival circuits or the Rhythmic Arts Festival when it was down in San Diego. We were happy to have seen him this year in Monterey as part of The International Sextet and gotten on his calendar to play at Wednesday Night Hop. Sonny will be joined by Katie Cavera, Marty Eggers and Clint Baker.

Don a lei, your best Hawaiian shirt or a grass skirt and a plumeria in your hair! Lindy Luau is this week at Wednesday Night Hop! Warm up those hips for some fun in the hula hoop contest!
Summer Swing is in full swing! We have quite a number of leaders signed up for class, so, leads, it may do you well to convince a willing gal to join in on the fun this season! Don't miss the last few weeks of classes with Adam and Pinar! They have been teaching some really fun material this month full of energy, and still working all that connection and musicality that makes your dancing better and more enjoyable on all levels!
You can still drop in for the rest of the month. It's always worth the visit!
*** LEVEL 1 - SUMMER SWING KICK OFF! ***
8:15 - 9:15pm
Kicking off the three month Summer Special series Adam and Pinar will start teaching you strong fundamentals upon which you can build a long and healthy passion for lindy hop. Start the summer swingin' out in style to the extraordinary music that is America's greatest heritage. Warning: Lindy hop can lead to copious amounts of fun and excitement!
*** LEVEL 2 - JAZZ INSPIRED LINDY HOP! ***
7:15 - 8:15pm
What do Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa and even Cakewalk have in common? Jazz music from the early 20th century has inspired the birth of all these dances. Not only is it possible to dance all of them to the same music, the different aesthetics and techniques from each enrich our expression as dancers. In this series, Adam and Pinar will show you how to integrate concepts from various swing dances to your lindy hop and add a splash of style and a dash of fun.

Class includes free admission to the dance party.
7:15pm - Level 2 Intermediate Lindy Hop ($14 drop-in)
8:15pm - Level 1 Beginning Lindy Hop ($14 drop-in)
9:15pm - 11:45pm - Dance Party! ($7 regular, $5 24&under)

($100 Summer Swing - 3 Months of classes)
($75 Summer Swing for age 24 & under)

WNH is launching a discount price policy for high school and college aged
individuals! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half
off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still
carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still
eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that
semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a $5
admission cost. Drop-in classes are not discounted.
Discount policy for 24 and younger or full-time students:
$25 for series classes (regularly $50)
$14 or $15 for drop-in classes (same as regular price)
$5 for the dance only (regularly $7 or $10 on band night)

Wednesday Night offers $70 value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the
dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a
band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with
cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy
Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your
instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class
for only $25 for the continuing student and $25 for the brand new dancer!
