We had a great time last week with DJ Naomi! Now it's time to gear up for May!
Last week one enthusiastic Lindy Hopper started an email list composed of other like minded "hoppers" who want to dance more than once a week! Mark Your Calendars! WNH Lindy Prom is coming up on May 19th. The theme this year is "Tuxedo Junction"! The prom committee is in full swing, pun intended! We will welcome back the Fil Lorenz Orchestra, dress to the nines and record the evening for posterity in the free photo booth!

It is totally Trevor night this week. He'll be teaching class and manning the DJ booth!
This week is also the kick off for May classes. You don't want to miss this one because, Trevor and Audrey will be teaching some material in both the level 1 and level 2 classes that will be part of a FLASH MOB to be performed some time in June! Read on to find out more!

2. May Series Classes with Trevor & Audrey! FLASH MOB!

*** MAY CLASSES BEGIN! ***
Trevor and Audrey will be give you some life long lindy lessons folded into some choreographed material that will be used for a Flash Mob in June! What is a Flash Mob? A FLASH MOB is an organized routine done at some random location like a mall or train station. A particular song comes on and those who are in on the secret suddenly drop everything and "spontaneously" dance a choreographed sequence!
Level 1 - Lindy Hop: 6-counts & 8-counts Mixing Your Basics!
8:15 - 9:15pm
There are several ways to put together your basic footwork in Lindy Hop! Trevor and Audrey will give you two of the most common ways the footwork is done as well as how to move from one patten to the other seamlessly. This material will also cover Jazz Movement and will be incorporated into the FLASH MOB that will be performed sometime in June and/or July! Be prepared for a fun-filled summer of swing!
Level 2 - Lindy Hop: Express What Lies Within
7:15 - 8:15pm
Trevor and Audrey love to perform and believe that you are not only connecting with each other, the music and the floor but with the whole room wherever you dance AND the dance itself and it's history. There are so many levels of these kinds of connections and each layer adds enjoyment and excitement to the dance. Trevor and Audrey will consider this idea while teaching material that will be used for a FLASH MOB in June and/or July!

Class includes free admission to the dance party.
7:15pm - Level 2 Intermediate Lindy Hop ($50 series, $14 drop-in)
8:15pm - Level 1 Beginning Lindy Hop ($50 series, $14 drop-in)
9:15pm - 11:45pm - Dance Party! ($7 Dance party)
($75 for both series, $21 to drop in both Level 1 & 2)
Cash, Checks or Credit Cards are accepted before 10pm.
Only cash or checks accepted after 10pm.

*** NEW DISCOUNTS! ***
WNH is launching a discount price policy for high school and college aged individuals! Show proof of age 24 and younger at the front desk for half off the price of series classes. If you are over 24 years old, but still carry enough credits to qualify as a full-time student, you are still eligible for the discount. Bring in your full-time class schedule for that semester or quarter to get the discount. Dances are also discounted to a $5 admission cost for this group. Drop-in classes are not discounted.
Discount policy for 24 and younger or full-time students:
$25 for series classes (regularly $50)
$14 or $15 for drop-in classes (same as regular price)
$5 for the dance only (regularly $7 or $10 on band night)
New policy effective May 2010.
*** PUNCH CARDS & 2-for-1 COUPONS ***
Wednesday Night offers $70 value pre-paid punch cards for entrance to the dance only. Each card gets you 10 admissions to the dance party be it a band night or a special party or performance. No more messing around with cash at the door. Just present your card and sign in!
If you signed up for the class series and you would like to introduce Lindy Hop to someone who has never been to Wednesday Night Hop before, ask your instructor for a 2-for-1 coupon. You can sign up for your next series class for only $25 for the continuing student and $25 for the brand new dancer! Spread the gospel of swing!
