Many thanks to Margot & James who brought delicious treats to share last week, even some fuzzy French drinks! Our jam celebrated a visitor from Monterey, a dancer returning from Alaska, and a friend moving to Beijing. And DJ Alex F played upbeat music to keep the place hopping all night, and we like it that way!

1. THIS WEEK: October 21th - DJ Alex P! Week 3 Series Classes, Food & Fun!

This is our week 3 of classes, you can still drop in but be ready to be challenged if you've missed the previous two weeks. And the challenge is:
More ways to steal a dancer in a Jam for Level 2, and getting into Tandem Charleston in Level 1, no helmet required!
DJ Alex P will be spinning the tunes for us, I mean for YOU this week!

2. October 28th: Musical Masquerade! Dress as your Favorite Swing Song!

Boo! Halloween is upon us and if you haven't turned into a pumpkin by October 28th, come to Wednesday Night Hop for our annual Musical Masquerade Dance Party. Dress up as your favorite Swing Song and enter our costume contest to win special prizes!
Did you hear the "Buzz, Buzz, Buzz?" Well, "Everyday I Have the Blues" because we can't have Wednesday Night Hop every night! So, I just put on my "Shiny Stockings" and eat some "Potato Chips" until my "Fine Brown Frame" feels better! Sounds familiar? These are just a few of costume songs from last year, can you top if off?

3. October Series Classes: Tandem Charleston & Lead/Follow Steal Jam Moves!

Level 1 - Lindy & Tandem Charleston - with Gabe & Andrea
8:00 - 9:00pm
In this class we'll be building on the basic Lindy Hop and adding to it Tandem Charleston. We'll play with fun and interesting ways to string the two together and make even the most complicated of sequences seem easy. Don't worry, this class will provide all of the basics you need to know. No prior dance experience is necessary. Tandem's as easy as riding a bike.
Level 2 - Moves so Great you have to Steal them - with Gabe & Andrea
7:00 - 8:00pm
Learn new and interesting ways to confidently steal into the weekly birthday jams. Instead of waiting for your turn, learn slick ways to take one partner away from the other, regardless if you're a follow or a lead. This class will provide tons of material for both leads and followers. Not only will you learn several fun steal moves, but by the end of the series you will know the ins-and-outs of creating your own on-the-fly. As a follow, you will learn how to 'lead' the current dancing follow out of the dance, while inserting yourself and as a 'lead' you'll learn new ways to take over the dancing follower seamlessly. As a lead, you'll learn how to suprise the follower by taking the other lead's place when she least expects it. Join us for a whole month of partner stealing madness.
