1. THIS WEEK: July 15th - DJ Alex Fernandez! Hawaiian Night!

The fun does not stop at Wednesday Night Hop! Last week, DJ Scott rocked the house again, and we had another fabulous night of dancing. And, the Level 1 class was huge! Welcome to the Lindy Hop community.
This week's fun events at Wednesday Night Hop include Hawaiian Night on July 15th and a Lindy Bomb (with a performance by Double or Nothing) at Santana Row on July 19th! And, we have BAND NIGHT with the Solomon Douglas Quartet on August 5th! Our awesome classes are still going strong. And our SUMMER SWING program is well, swingin'! You can still take advantage of this special offer until August 5th. Woo hoo!
You make Wednesday Night Hop the hottest dance party around, so please let us know if you ever have any questions or suggestions. We'll see you out on the dance floor!

Hawaiian Night - July 15th

No need to "lei" around this summer! Get out your vacation clothes (Hawaiian print shirts, grass skirts, coconut bikini tops, and flip-flops) and get ready to shake those hips! We are going to have a great time at our Hawaiian Night with fabulous music, food, and fun!
Oh yes! We are having a Hula Hoop contest! Prepare to test your endurance and creativity. Winners will receive a fabulous prize!

Hey Everybody! Grab your friends, family, and shopping bags! We're Lindy-bombing Santana Row in San Jose, 11:00am - 3:00pm! We'll be at the Park Valencia Stage in the main courtyard in front of Starbucks and Maggianos Restaurant. Just bring your dancing shoes, some water, and all of your family and friends. They don't dance? No problem! We will be providing a free lesson for anyone interested. Oh yes! There will be a performance from Double or Nothing along with great music, social dancing, and lots of fun! Join us!

Beginning Lindy Hop SUMMER SWING Program!

If you or someone you know is interested in getting a good foundation in Lindy Hop this summer, we are offering great deal! Three months of Beginning Level 1 Lindy Hop for the price of two! Starting July 1st and running through September 30th, this deal also includes two special topic drop-in classes in the months of July and September as well as admission to the dance and any band nights within the months of July, August and September. This is a $178.00 value package for only $100!

4. July Classes

Level 1: Fundamentals Boot Camp with Gabe and Andrea W.
8:00 - 9:00pm
Welcome to the wonderful world of swing! We'll introduce you to the basics of Lindy Hop, and we'll dive into how to make the whole equation work with ease. In this class, we will get you on your feet and dancing! No experience required! No Partner Required! This series is suitable for the absolute beginner with no dance experience to dancers with 4-6 months of Lindy Hop dance experience. There will be something for everyone in this class.

Level 2: A Conversation Through Dance with Gabe and Andrea W.
7:00 - 8:00pm
Dancing with your partner should be like having a nice conversation with a good friend. In this class, we will explore the wide world of conversational dancing. We will work on the flow of the dance and how to dance 'in the moment.' Come to this class with an open mind and ready to have a fantastic time. Gabe and Andrea W. will take you through the steps needed to learn what is necessary to be able to be conversational with your dancing.
This series is suitable for the intermediate Lindy Hop dancer with 8+ months of continuous social dancing experience. No partner required!
5th Week Specialty Classes

Level 1: Musicality 101
In this 5th week speciality class, we will cover the basics of dancing with the music. Topics will include, finding the beginning of phrases, song beginnings and endings, and breaks. In addition to these ideas we will also discuss how to dance to the more subtle feelings of the music. This class will be fun and widely applicable to dancers of all skill levels.
Level 2: Multiple Choice Swingouts Continued
Back by popular demand, Gabe and Andrea will continue to de-construct the swingout in this 5th week class. We will continue to show many more ways to swing it out! You will learn more ways to fit together the many styles and variations of the venerable swing-out. This class will give you the ability to vary the texture, technique and timing of each swing-out to match your partner, mood and music. We will cover as many variations as time permits.
